The Luxe Book had the pleasure of visiting Santiago, Chile, a unique and inspiring destination, as well as home to the W Hotel Santiago and its spectacular restaurant Bistro Kilometro 0.
A prestigious and renowned culinary destination, Kilometro 0 derives its name from the fact that Santiago is the starting point of Chile’s esteemed wine trail. A pilgrimage of sorts, Chile’s wine trail takes visitors through stunning wine country and centuries of wine culture that date as far back as the 16th century.
More than just embracing this culture, Kilometro 0 has infused it into all aspects of its guest experience. With over 4,000 bottles of wine and over 350 labels to choose from, the glass enclosures that house this precious stock are built into the very walls of the restaurant, which climb four stories!
Centuries of viniculture and hours upon hours dedicated to the pursuit of perfection have all converged to this starting point in Santiago. The décor, the dishes, and the architecture all work together in unison to highlight that which has brought them into existence in the first place: the love of wine.
